This documentary doesnt do justice to this fascinating country. I have been to poland in 2005 and enjoyed my stay very much. Its not a beautiful country by any means, but its people are simple-minded and sometimes friendly. If you tell them your not jewish, they might just invite you into their tiny flats, throw some cow droppings or dead mice on the barbecue and the party is on. And boy: do these guys party!! Since most of them dont have to worry about having to get up early (or having to get up at all), they just keep going and going!!! They sing and dance and will only stop for an occasional crap out of the window. I spent 5 weeks there and very rarely did I have violent encounters like the ones shown in this documentary. Usually polish people will ignore you. During the entire 5 weeks I spent there I only had 2 or 3 serious life-or-death-fights and had to run for my life maybe another 5 or 6 times.
